The 2019 Power Giving Campaign

Editor's note: The following announcement went out to our mailing list on Friday, December 6th.

A great big thank you goes out to everyone who attended the Leaders Luncheon on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, which was hosted by Hope Credit Union at Jackson Medical Mall. It was a fruitful meeting that, among other things, focused on our work to support and protect immigrant families, to increase access to fresh food in the City of Jackson, and to develop ourselves for building power. The agenda from that meeting is here

Leaders were also excited to launch our Power Giving Campaign which runs from now until the end of the year. This campaign has a goal of raising $25,000 by the end of December to support our work to rebuild and cheer on the city of Jackson.

Let’s be clear: Working Together Jackson takes tremendous pride in our beloved city and the narrative we give credence to emphasizes the strength, resilience and community of Jackson. Therefore, this campaign is about the work institutions are doing, on our own volition, to become stronger and to create more opportunities for all Jacksonians in the areas of living wage employment, public schools, food access, disability access, and water billing crisis intervention.
