We are encouraging all Mississipians to contact their state legislators and voice their support for the Mississippi Cares plan. If you don’t know who your legislator is, you can find that information at this link.

To the Honorable [Name of Elected Official]:
The COVID-19 crisis has caused much sickness and suffering while placing tremendous stress on our medical system.
Thousands of Mississippians have lost their jobs and healthcare for themselves and their families. Many of these Mississippians are essential, frontline workers, who are risking their lives daily to meet our needs in restaurants, grocery stores, factories, and on farms, and they do not have healthcare.
It should be abundantly clear that access to healthcare and support for our hospitals are critical to creating a healthy Mississippi. The Mississippi Cares Plan proposed by the Mississippi Hospital Association provides a way to deal with both of these issues. The plan expands access to the working poor of Mississippi and reduces the hospitals’ cost of uncompensated care, at no cost to the state.
I urge you to do everything within your power to pass Mississippi Cares into law.
